Success at the Wine Show of Western Australia

We are thrilled to share the exciting results from the Wine Show of Western Australia, where our wines proudly stood among the state’s finest. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, passion, and attention to detail that goes into every bottle we craft.

🥇 Gold Winner: 2023 Kalgan River Shiraz

Tasting Note:
Aromatic layers of mulberry, savoury kalamata olive, and warming spice flood the nose. On the palate, this Shiraz is structured yet approachable, with supple tannins, generous fruit weight, and integrated oak that lingers for a memorable finish.

Winemaking Notes:
Sourced from dry-grown vines at Kalgan River, the Shiraz was machine harvested and cold soaked for two days before fermentation. Daily pump-overs with aeration enhanced the extraction during an 11-day ferment. The wine was matured in 30% new French oak for 10 months, building depth while maintaining vibrancy.

🥈 Silver Winner: 2024 Here for A Good Time Vermentino

Tasting Note:
Zesty and energetic, this Vermentino bursts with Meyer lemon, delicate quince flower, and a richly textured palate. A refreshing acid crunch drives a long, racy finish, making this wine a perfect summer companion.

Winemaking Notes:
Crafted from Frankland River fruit, the Vermentino was gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel to preserve freshness. A brief two-month maturation on lees enhanced texture and mouthfeel. Bottled early to retain its lifted aromatics, this wine showcases citrus, florals, and a saline mineral edge in a dry, vibrant style.

🥉 Bronze Winner: 2024 Kalgan River Pinot Noir

Tasting Note:
Beautifully expressive with notes of juicy raspberry, wild strawberries, and subtle earthy undertones. Hints of delicate florals, silky tannins, and refined acidity lend balance and elegance.

Winemaking Notes:
From 115/777 Burgundy clones, this Pinot Noir includes 5% whole bunch to enhance structure and aromatic lift. Fermented in small open-top fermenters with gentle hand plunging, it was matured in French oak (15% new) for 11 months. The result is a refined wine that highlights vibrant red fruits and a fine tannin structure, with subtle spice from oak influence.

Each award is a reflection of the craftsmanship in our winery and the unique terroir of Western Australia’s premier wine regions. From the dry-grown vines of Kalgan River to the vibrant fruit of Frankland River, we are proud to represent our land and share its story through every glass.

We invite you to taste the results for yourself and celebrate this achievement with us.

Cheers!
